Frontier provides our bulk spices here at Martindale’s. As a business founded on the co-op model, Frontier is committed to community. Their philosophy is “doing good, works” – That means obtaining their organic herbs and spices responsibly, and giving back to the people that grow and produce them. Despite sourcing spices from all over the world, Frontier has never compromised on their promise to be as sustainable, ethical, and natural as possible.

Lundberg Family Farms

Lundberg Farms knows the importance of sustainable agriculture. This family business was founded on the heels of the dust bowl, an event that has shaped their approach to farming. The Lundberg rice farm is still owned and operated by the family today. They promote healthy soil, organic crops, and a minimally-wasteful approach to farming. Their entire operation produces as much waste as just 51 regular Americans per year; an astounding figure when you consider they produce 168 certified organic varieties of rice.

This Maine-based company specializes in organic granola and provides the bulk granola here at Martindale’s. Founded in 1978, Grandy-Oats is committed to sustainability, transparency, and social responsibility. They produce their 100% organic granola in a solar-powered renovated schoolhouse in Hiram, Maine, where they are the town’s largest employer. Their granola is made with plenty of love and without any artificial ingredients.
