Blackbird Original Seitan
Vegans and plant-based eaters rejoice! This seitan has a terrific meaty texture, but no animals were harmed in the making of this product…phew. There are plenty of plant-based “meats” out there these days, but seitan was the very first. In fact, it has been a meat-alternative in East Asia since the 6th century.
Blackbird Seitan is the work of two groups of chefs from New York City and Philadelphia. Originally making it exclusively for restaurants, the chefs heeded customers’ requests for a version they can make at home.
