Black seed, known as black cumin seed, and a host of other names has been favorited around the world and the fans are increasing. Why? In particular, studies focused on weight loss, accomplished by means of the humble black seed, show promise. Aids for Weight Loss

Doctors reviewed thirteen black seed (Nigella sativa) studies covering 875 obese men and women. Ten of the studies’ participants lost weight compared to placebo taking it. In eleven of the studies, body mass index scores improved for black seed, and in eight studies, waist circumference decreased. Decreased waistline sounds good any day of the week, don’t you think?

In another review of eleven black seed studies, obese participants that took black seed lost an average of 4.65 pounds, 1.38 inches in waist circumference, and body mass index scores improved. In all the studies, black seed was safe, with participants reporting no serious side effects.
